Dr Wong Jen San specialises in gallbladder management. His clinical interests include general surgery with expertise in all aspects of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, particularly that of minimally-invasive (laparoscopic) surgery.
Dr Wong first obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Leicester, and continued to receive his early surgical training in the United Kingdom. He subsequently completed his Advanced Specialty Training in General Surgery at Singapore General Hospital, obtaining the FRCS (Edinburgh) and FAMS (General Surgery). Dr Wong then completed his HMDP Clinical Fellowship at Kyoto University Hospital and Kumamoto University Hospital in Japan.
Prior to private practice, Dr Wong was a Consultant with SGH Department of Hepatopancreatobiliary and Transplant Surgery, as well as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Visiting Consultant at the Department of Surgical Oncology in Singapore National Cancer Centre. He is also a founding member of the Hepatopancreatobiliary Association Singapore.
Dr Wong has been invited as a guest faculty or speaker at several regional surgical conferences on hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.
